McGuigan The Shortlist Riesling 2018

If you love Riesling this one is an absolute classic, Hallidays said it was "Utterly Beguiling" and rated it a 96/100, The 2019 Shortlist Riesling by McGuigan Wines is fresh, crisp and well balanced.

The palate of this wine delivers intense citrus notes of lemon and lime held together with a persistent acid line ensuring great ageing ability. The wine is attractive on the nose with lifted floral notes of jasmine and lemon sherbet.

The Eden Valley Riesling is perfectly matched to shellfish, freshly shucked oysters and delicate seafood, balancing with its crisp acidity.

While this tastes fantastic right now, it is also an excellent wine to cellar and would still be in peak form (or more likely even better with some age (Cellar up to 2031)

Awarded a top ranking 95 by Halliday "Power, class, texture and length. Excellent semillon."
The 2013 vintage was one of the Hunter Valley’s classic vintages. With very hot summer conditions flavours were concentrated. Although quality is very high, the quantity produced was very low.
This aged Semillon is a Hunter Valley Classic and although perfect to drink now, could easily be cellared for another ten years. A true Connoisseurs wine if you are looking for a special gift which is representative of the regions best, this wine is guaranteed to impress.

This Audrey Wilkinson 'The Ridge' Semillon 2013 wine has a bouquet of citrus lime and lemon, with hints of talc, making this the perfect wine for every occasion. Fresh sherbet, great minerality with delicate but powerful citrus fruit flavours.

Amazing paired with the Cuvee Bianco white chocolate or their Soleo Chocolate (one of our favourites)

Audrey Wilkinson ‘The Lake’ Shiraz 2018

The 2018 Vintage was the hottest year on record and will be regarded as one of Audrey Wilkinson's greatest years for red wines for the level of fruit intensity, with the Lake Shiraz being the pinnacle. Set next to the spring fed dam near the back gate of the property this shiraz block is referred to simply as ‘The Lake’. Floral, fresh fruit aromas lift from this wine with a tightly wound red and blue fruit core on the palate supported with subtle use of French oak for structure and typical Hunter Shiraz notes of dark spice for complexity.

“Grown on the old vine Lake block on the estate vineyard, 15% whole-bunch fermented, matured in French puncheons. Lots of gamey, savoury, earthy regional character on the bouquet, but the red berry fruit is the anchor.
