‘The Lake’ Shiraz 2018 – The 2018 Vintage was the hottest year on record and will be regarded as one of our greatest years for red wines for the level of fruit intensity, with our Lake Shiraz being the pinnacle. Set next to the spring fed dam near the back gate of the property this shiraz block is referred to simply as ‘The Lake’. Floral, fresh fruit aromas lift from this wine with a tightly wound red and blue fruit core on the palate supported with subtle use of French oak for structure and typical Hunter Shiraz notes of dark spice for complexity. 95 Points | James Halliday Wine Companion.
‘The Ridge’ Semillon 2013 – The 2013 vintage was one of the Hunter Valley’s classic vintages and the aged Semillon is quite a special wine, great now, but you could easily cellar it for another ten years as well..With very hot summer conditions where we saw the highest temperature ever recorded, flavours were concentrated and vintage began earlier than usual, starting on January 15. Although quality is very high, the quantity is very low. Colour: Pale yellow with green hues. Bouquet: Lifted grassy and citrus aromas of limes and lemons with hints of lemon curd and toast from bottle age. Palate: Fresh lemon sherbet flavours on the palate with hints of lime and green apple along with lemon curd and nutty characters from bottle age. A long delicate palate is supported by a persistent acidity.
